Challenges facing sheriffs because of “lax immigration enforcement rules” will be the subject of a press briefing in Bourne Wednesday morning scheduled by Barnstable County Sheriff James Cummings. In an advisory, the sheriff’s office said Cummings plans to use an inmate at the Barnstable House of Correction as a “specific example” of the challenges.

Cummings plans to brief the media at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility, 6000 Sheriff’s Place in Bourne.
