BOSTON – Sia, Disclosure, and Robyn will headline the seventh annual Boston Calling music festival, event organizers announced Thursday. It will take place Friday through Sunday, May 27-29, at Boston’s City Hall Plaza. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

The 23-act lineup includes an array of genres including pop, electronic, R&B and rock. The headliners come from around the globe, including Australian pop powerhouse Sia, Grammy-nominated English electronic brother duo Disclosure, and Swedish icon Robyn.

Boston Calling first started in May 2013 and quickly became the city’s largest music festival, providing a three-day party in the heart of Government Center. It features cross-genre and cross-generational artists with two primary performance stages and no overlapping sets.

This year they will feature festival-wide beer experiences from Sam Adams, a food pavilion made of locally and nationally known food vendors, along with world-class lighting, special effects and design.

Other noteworthy artists include Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, pop-rock sister trio Haim, singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens and Swedish indie-pop sensations Miike Snow.

New features to Boston Calling will include an intimate third stage featuring comedy and other performances and an expanded food and beverage program.

“We believe the upcoming festival will be the most interesting edition yet,” said festival co-founder Brain Appel in the news release announcing the lineup. “We’ve spent so much time this year on making the attendee experience the best it can be, from the new food and beverage experience to the new performance stage; we have even more programming space this year.”

Appel said they still have a few more surprises to share and that with each edition of Boston Calling they have worked to create a more exciting and diverse festival.

“To have artists as adventurous and distinct as Sufjan, Sia, Charles Bradley, Haim, Robyn, Lizzo and Battles, to name just a few, is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to take it all in,” festival curator Aaron Dessner added in the release.

The VIP area will again offer access to City Hall Courtyard, a 25,000-square-foot Mezzanine with prime views of both stages as well as complimentary food by The Citizen Public House & Oyster Bar.
