Health Care? I’m Insanely Conservative Yet I’m Blaming The Republicans

Dear Elected Republicans,

$1,600.  That’s what I pay per month for a family of four for health care.  Thank God and knock on wood, but we’re all in great health.

We have an insanely high deductible and co-insurance. It doesn’t matter how many times my insurance guy explains it. I still have no idea what co-insurance is other than another way to make us pay. And stop the judgment. You don’t actually know what it is, either.

I run a company. I pay this incredibly high insurance to help keep my employees’ insurance premiums down. (It’s all a math game, guys – and I lose no matter what.)

But “down” is just a relative term.  Truth of it is that it sucks.

So in the midterm elections in 2014, I voted for the obvious solution – Republicans.  Why?  Because Democrats got us into this mess.

Oh, shut up.  Do I really have to remind you about the whole “if you like your doctor” thing?  Or the “we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it” thing?

So we voted, and then what happened?  The Republicans proceeded to bend over and take whatever Barack Obama gave them.

So I – and America – spoke again.  We voted for more Republicans in 2016. AND for President Donald Trump. Oh, and for those of you who are American citizens and struggle with how this all works … I’ll help.  Yes, he is your President.

At least we THOUGHT we were voting for Republicans. Apparently, we were wrong. Because somehow, a bunch of spineless pushovers ended up in office doing their best to distance themselves from the very President who is the best reflection of the pulse of the American people that we’ve ever seen.

So let me simplify this for our dear “conservative” representatives.Let me tell you why I’m blaming YOU for a collapse of “repeal and replace.”

You KNEW that Democrats were going to fight you every step of the way.

Why?

Because in the absence of logic, ideas, or the ability to be an actual grown up, they play identity politics and chant “resist.” They turn violent rhetoric into something that’s apparently acceptable.

But you KNEW that was going to happen.  And yet instead of coming together as conservatives, you’ve been too busy worrying about covering your butts in preparation for the midterm elections.

You made us a promise.  You failed.  And this time, we’re blaming you.

You’d better get it together.

Sincerely,
