Couple Celebrates 68th Wedding Anniversary In Style

Frank and Helen Beauregard, ages 89 and 87, have signs of dementia, but they remember each other.

The couple renewed their wedding vows at an adult day care center in Chelmsford. The ceremony included a new hairdo for Helen, a white blanket that resembled a wedding gown, and a veil. Frank wore a white shirt and tie. A wedding singer performed.

Originally from Lowell, Frank and Helen lived in Westford and Dracut before moving to the northern New Hampshire town of Stark about 24 years ago. About two years ago they moved to their daughter’s house in Westford. (She is one of their five children.)

As to what led to their marriage July 2, 1950 at St. Peter’s Church in Lowell, Frank told the Lowell Sun:  “We just fell, and that’s the way it was.”
