A 41-year-old Maine man who was stopped by a police officer for knocking over cones in a construction zone on a public street while driving a tractor got back on the tractor and fled, police said.

The driver led police on a slow-speed chase that lasted nearly three miles.

He was hauling “a big piece of machinery” at about 10:35 a.m. Tuesday in the central Maine town of Brewer when the chase began, according to the Bangor Daily News.

He was arrested and charged with failing to stop for a police officer and driving to endanger.
