Easthampton Mayor Says Nyet To Sanctuary City Petition

Easthampton police don’t currently enforce federal immigration laws and the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has never asked police in Easthampton to detain anyone, says the police chief. But activists are circulating a petition demanding Mayor Karen Cadieux issue an executive order declaring Easthampton a sanctuary city, something she is refusing to do.
