A Democratic challenger for governor of Rhode Island is accusing the Democratic governor of Rhode Island of not being pro-abortion enough because she allowed multiple Obamacare exchange plans not to cover abortion except in extreme cases.

The incumbent, Governor Gina Raimondo, supports legal abortion and wants the state legislature to codify support for it in state law. The Affordable Care Act requires each state exchange to include at least one plan that doesn’t cover abortion. Governor Raimondo forced insurers in Rhode Island to offer nine plans that restricted abortion coverage,” states a letter supporting Brown signed by various abortion supporters, including Gloria Steinem and Kate Michelman, according to the Providence Journal.
