Senate President: Might Be Time For Legislature To Get Involved With Massachusetts State Police Scandals

Legislative hearings or changes in policy could be in order to try to deal with the various Massachusetts State Police scandals, the president of the Massachusetts Senate said.

Senate President Harriette Chandler (D-Worcester) acknowledged the continuing scandals among the State Police that started in the fall of 2017.

“While I am encouraged by the Baker Administration’s changes to the MSP, I am deeply concerned about the ever increasing number of issues at the State Police. As a legislative body, we will take appropriate action, whether that is holding oversight hearings, or looking at needed policy changes,” Chandler said in a statement to MassLive.com.
