Still-Unidentified Lottery Winner Gets Her Dough … But Will She Stay Anonymous?

March 7, 2018

A New Hampshire woman who won $560 million in the Powerball lottery from a ticket she bought at a store in the Reeds Ferry section of Merrimack, New Hampshire got a wire transfer for her winnings, but her legal bid to remain unidentified is not yet resolved.

A judge has not yet ruled on the woman’s request to stay anonymous.

A trust she created is receiving the money, but she signed her own name on the back of the ticket, which is generally considered a public document once the ticket is given to lottery officials.

She announced through her lawyers a donation of $150,000 to Girls Inc.,  a nonprofit organization that advocates for girls, according to The Union Leader.
