Mike Hardman

Years ago, I was in line waiting to vote in the town in which I grew up, and the guy next to me summed up his existence by saying, “East Bridgewater born, East Bridgewater raised, and East Bridgewater died.” I don’t live in East Bridgewater anymore, but I still live and work in this state, so I suppose my grave stone will read, “Massachusetts born, Massachusetts raised, and Massachusetts (hopefully, not too soon) died.” As a broadcaster, I lost my “Paak the Caa in Haavaad Yaad ” accent years ago, but I’m a Bay Stater to the core. In fact, if you cut me open like one of those Cape Cod sharks, you’d find some baked beans, cod, lobster, and clam chowder. Around my heart, you’d find Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins logos. When I was starting out, long before computers, I always hoped my journalism career would find me in Boston. Thankfully, I’ve been lucky to have my city in my work address at several stops along the way. Now, I’m thrilled to be the co-CEO, CFO and CAO at the NewBostonPost. (On a side note, I need to save money to buy a vowel.) This is an exciting opportunity to bring a new voice and contribute positively and thoughtfully to the discussions of the day. After all, it’s never healthy to hear just one side of the issue when you are making up your mind on anything. Boston is home and, probably, my final resting place. Hopefully, not too soon, because this job is wicked cool. See you around the Bay State and here, on NewBostonPost.com!
