Dear Employees, You’re Not Worth Crap

For anyone who follows me, they know I don’t shy away from controversial topics.  Just the opposite, actually.  I run into them head first.

In the world of business, heads of companies go out of their way to avoid controversy.  Many look at me and think I’m out of my mind.

Good.

That being said, it’s time to talk about worthless employees.  Completely, totally and utterly worthless employees.

At least that’s how they’re made to feel by their bosses.

I can’t tell you how many people reach out to me after every video or article I post to tell me about how they desperately wish they had a boss who treated them like our company treats our employees.

It’s a strategy – and I get it.  Make employees feel worthless and they won’t feel confident enough to ask for a raise.  Or more vacation time.  Or complain, for that matter, because who cares about their opinion, right?

It’s just that it’s a strategy that I disagree with.  Totally and completely.

Your employees are the lifeblood of your organization.  Without them, your company would be nothing.

So I just wanted to send you all a little note and tell you that, regardless of what you’ve been told by your bosses, you’re not worth crap.

You’re all worth so, so much more.

And don’t you ever forget that.

I hope you’ll share this with your coworkers, family and friends … because it’s a message you all need to hear.
