School To Parents: Doritos and Ice Cream Are Healthy Snacks

For anyone wondering why America has an obesity problem, here you go.

Parents of students at Gilead Hill Elementary School in Hebron, Connecticut received a letter on Friday about the new “Healthy Snack Program.”

The options are great … if you are a 24-year-old unemployed kid with a case of the munchies at 2 a.m..  Doritos.  Cheeseballs.  Ice cream.

You can’t make this stuff up.  As a former fat kid, I’ve gotta tell you — this would have been a dream come true for me.

The letter was given to kids to bring home to mom and dad.  Here you go:

Dear Parents,

It is my pleasure to announce that we will be starting our Healthy Snack Program here at Gilead Hill Elementary School.

We will be offering snacks on Tuesday and Thursdays starting on Tuesday, September 19th.  It will be a cash purchase of $.75 per snack with a limit of 2 snacks per purchase.

Our snacks range from Cheetos Puffs, Cheeseballs, Doritos, and of course a variety of ice cream.  All of our snacks are within the nutritional guidelines of the Healthy Snack Program.

Please feel free to call me or email with any questions or concerns you may have.

Thank You

What is this, Diet Doritos?  Cheetos Lite?  Vegan cheeseballs?

Am I the only parent that thinks the world has gone INSANE?  Share this if you agree that Cheetos and ice cream are NOT healthy options for our kids.
