Warren praises Sanders’ attacks on Wall St. banks

BOSTON – Did U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D- Massachusetts) just endorse Bernie Sanders?
Not really, but a Twitter rant earlier this week might have looked that way to some observers. On Wednesday, Warren posted a series of comments shredding Republican policies dealing with big banks.
11 big banks are still so risky that if any one started to fail, they’d need a gov bailout or risk taking down the economy – again.

But the 2016 Republicans claim they’ll repeal all the new financial regulations – hoping to be chosen as Wall Street’s favorite candidate. — Elizabeth Warren (@elizabethforma) Jan. 6, 2016
Then, the excited former Harvard Law School professor tossed Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, her Senate colleague from Vermont, a compliment that was rapidly and widely reposted on Twitter by her followers, both excited for the support and calling her out:
I’m glad @BernieSanders is out there fighting to hold big banks accountable, make our economy safer, & stop the GOP from rigging the system. — Elizabeth Warren (@elizabethforma) Jan. 6, 2016
Warren quickly clarified:
I’m glad that ALL the Dem candidates for president – @HillaryClinton, @BernieSanders & @MartinOMalley – are fighting for Wall St reform. — Elizabeth Warren (@elizabethforma) Jan. 6, 2016
She continued her rant about banking regulation Friday and jabbed at Republican contender Jeb Bush in the process:
Not sure what’s more disgusting: That Jeb is pinning his 2016 hopes on his bro’s bailout $, or that bailed-out CEOs want to buy elections. — Elizabeth Warren (@elizabethforma) Jan. 8, 2016
This is business as usual for Wall Street and Washington insiders, and it stinks.

Interestingly enough, the previous night, Sanders had appeared on Comedy Central’s “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” and answered a question about Warren’s candidacy as a running mate with a simple: “She and I will work together.”
