Four police officers in a Pittsburgh suburb are making headlines for all the right reasons.
When the cops noticed a man and woman get up and move to the other side of the restaurant so as to not sit near the officers, the policemen from Homestead and Whitaker, Penn., responded by picking up the couple’s tab — including a 35 percent tip.
“Essentially the whole goal of it was to let him know that we’re not here to hurt you, we’re not here for that,” Homestead Officer Chuck Thomas said in an interview with WTAE News. “We’re here for you. We work for the public. And we just want to better the relationship between the community and the police.”
