Time To Give Donna Brazile the Medal of Freedom

There she was, with much of the power of the Democratic National Committee in her hands, and seeing with her own eyes that Hillary Clinton was a weak, sick woman surrounded by incompetent sycophants mirroring her own lack of knowledge, judgment, and talent.
When Hillary collapsed on camera after a campaign event on September 11, 2016, and then waived off her obvious infirmity with vague implausibilities about some passing sickness, Donna Brazile, the interim party chairman, knew what she had to do: Dump Hillary and replace her with Joe Biden.
Uncle Joe is basically Hillary without the cackle – just as fraudulent and mean and wrongheaded about everything under the sun. But he covers it up better, appears friendly on TV (for the first 30 seconds, anyway), and in a short campaign without much scrutiny probably could have prevented his own warehouse-full of skeletons from coming front-and-center.
Riding a wave of sympathy from a recent tragedy in his family and plaudits from the mainstream media on his non-existent accomplishments as vice president, Biden would have entered election day in November with negative ratings much lower than Donald Trump’s (and Hillary’s), and he might well have carried the states Hillary really needed, such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
In short, we could be dealing today with President Biden’s pick for the federal Supreme Court, President Biden’s Justice Department, President Biden’s IRS, President Biden’s feckless foreign policy, and President Biden’s war on religion.
So why didn’t Brazile do it?
“I thought of Hillary, and all the women in the country who were so proud of and excited about her. I could not do this to them,” Brazile writes in her new memoir.
In short, her commitment to Political Correctness outweighed her commitment to her political party, and for that we should all be grateful. Her heart may not have been in the right place, but in politics results count more than motives.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is supposed to go “to any person who has made an especially meritorious contribution to (1) the security or national interests of the United States, or (2) world peace, or (3) cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”
By ensuring that Joe Biden could not become the Democratic nominee for president in 2016 and therefore could not become president in 2017, Donna Brazile did more for America than she will ever know.
President Trump: Give that woman a Medal of Freedom.
