Massachusetts state Representative Colleen Garry (D-Dracut) beat back a primary challenge from left-wing Dracut School Committee member Sabrina Heisey.

Garry is pro-life and voted against the so-called Bathroom Bill. She was criticized by Heisey from the left, particularly on social issues.

Garry took about 73 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary on Tuesday, according to the Lowell Sun.

Garry now faces Republican challenger Ray Leczynski in the fall.

The district includes the towns of Dracut and Tyngsborough in northern Massachusetts.
