Woman Who Knocked Off Trump Hat in Cape Restaurant Now Facing Deportation, ICE Says

A woman who knocked a red Make America Great Again hat off a customer in a Mexican restaurant on Cape Cod is an illegal Brazilian immigrant and is facing deportation, federal immigration authorities said.
Rosiane Santos, 41, who lives in East Falmouth, was arrested on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct Saturday, February 15 by Falmouth police after knocking the hat off the head of a customer who made a video of a portions of the incident.
She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested her Tuesday, February 26 after determining that she is in the country illegally.
“She has since been released from ICE custody after being entered into removal proceedings in federal immigration court and provided a Notice to Appear at a future date before an immigration court,” said John Mohan, public affairs officer for the New England region of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in a written statement.
