Opponents of abortion and universal mail-in ballots are also behind an effort to repeal a new Massachusetts state law that would allow illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses, two supporters of the driver's-licenses law said.
"Look at who is behind this attempt to roll back the driver's license law and you will see the same people who want to roll back laws protecting abortion access, voting rights, and many other laws that improve safety and equality," said Lenita Reason, executive director of the Brazilian Worker Center, and Roxana Rivera, executive vice president of the 32BJ chapter of Service Employees International Union, in a written statement.
