Anti-Abortion, Anti-ROE Act Bill Rally Set for West Roxbury on Tuesday, June 25

June 21, 2019

Opponents of the proposed ROE Act abortion expansion bill in Massachusetts are planning to hold a prayer rally in West Roxbury next week called Love Will End Abortion.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 with prayer and speakers at the rotary near Holy Name Church at 1689 Centre Street in West Roxbury.

The rally is to be followed by all-night adoration of the Eucharist in the lower church at Holy Name, with the prayer intention to protect life.

The event is sponsored by Boston Catholic Radio and the Parkway Committee for Life, according to a written statement.

The keynote speaker is Jim Havens, director of pro-life outreach for The Station of the Cross Catholic Radio Network and host of a weekly radio program called Love Will End Abortion.

The bill would remove a current requirement in state law that doctors try to save the life of a baby born alive after an attempted abortion. It would also remove virtually all restrictions on abortions after 24 weeks and would remove a current requirement in state law that girls 17 or younger get consent from a parent or from a superior court judge to get an abortion.

The Joint Committee on the Judiciary of the Massachusetts Legislature held a marathon hearing on the bill Monday, June 17.
