Anti-Trump Democrats Are Threatening the Republic, Anti-Trump Newspaper Says

Democrats’ efforts to force President Donald Trump to turn over his tax returns, force Fox News to explain why it didn’t publish details that might have made Trump look bad, get around the Electoral College, and pack the federal Supreme Court amount to attempts at “destroying aspects of our constitutional republic,” The Providence Journal editorialized.

The daily newspaper of Rhode Island’s capital and largest city is against Trump, and wants to see him defeated in 2020.

But Democrats who control the U.S. House of Representatives are messing with the U.S. Constitution, the newspaper said.

“This is increasingly not looking like America. Americans have striven to settle their political differences peacefully through a free and unfettered press and fair elections,” the Providence Journal said in the editorial published Sunday, April 7.
