Bill Weld Attended Maura Healey’s Inauguration Party

January 6, 2023

At least one Republican was at Governor Maura Healey’s inauguration party at TD Garden on Thursday night.

Former Massachusetts Bill Weld was spotted at the event, according to Politico.

Weld, a socially liberal Republican, served as governor of Massachusetts from 1991 to 1997.

Weld primaried Donald Trump for the Republican nomination in 2020 but failed to win any states.

Weld is currently a lobbyist for ML Strategies.

“Bill specializes in dealing with government at all levels, other C-suite issues including competition, and white collar investigations and litigation,” the firm’s web site says. “In addition, Bill participates on the firm’s ESG Practice Group, which leverages his experience advising both public and private corporate boards on social, environmental, and governance issues. ”
