Bill Weld Mulling Run Against Trump in 2020 GOP Primary

Former Massachusetts governor William Weld has changed his party registration back to Republican and is reportedly mulling a primary challenge to President Donald Trump.

Weld, who served as governor of Massachusetts from 1991 to 1997, when he resigned, governed as a fiscal moderate and a social liberal.

He ran in the 2016 general election as the vice presidential nominee for the Libertarian Party, under Gary Johnson.

Weld, 73, ran for governor of New York in 2006, but lost the Republican nomination.
