Body of Pittsfield Navy Man Killed in Pearl Harbor Attack Identified

A 21-year-old Pittsfield man killed in the December 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor while serving on the USS Oklahoma has been positively identified, 78 years later.
Roman Sadlowski, an electrician’s mate 3d class in the U.S. Navy, could not be positively identified at the time and was buried in Hawaii. He was one of many. But the bodies have since exhumed and had DNA and other factors analyzed, according to the Associated Press.
