Chris Christie and Asa Hutchinson Miss The Maine Presidential Primary Ballot

December 4, 2023

Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie and former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson won’t be on the 2024 presidential primary ballot in Maine.

Both candidates failed to submit 2,000 valid signatures of registered voters to the Maine Secretary of State’s office by the December 1 deadline, according to The Hill.

Six GOP candidates will be on the ballot. They are: North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Texas pastor Ryan Binkley, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, and former President Donald Trump, according to The Bangor Daily News.

Plus, two Democrats will appear on their respective primary ballot:  U.S. Representative Dean Phillips (D-Minnesota) and President Joe Biden. Spiritual psychotherapist Marianne Williamson didn’t make the cut on the Democratic side.

Maine is scheduled to hold its presidential primary on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, the same day as Massachusetts.
