Cops:  Cemetery Caretaker Dug Up Old Graves To Make Room For New Ones

The caretaker of a cemetery in Bridgeport, Connecticut was arrested Thursday on charges he dug up old graves and tossed bones, casket pieces, and old tombstones in order to make room for new graves.

Police believe more than 100 graves at the cemetery have been desecrated, according to the Hartford Courant

Relatives of people buried at Park Cemetery just north of downtown are outraged. The cemetery has graves of Civil War veterans, along with veterans of other wars.

The caretaker has been charged with interference with a cemetery, a felony, according to the Connecticut Post, of Bridgeport.
