Dad Delivers His Baby During Blizzard

March 14, 2018

The speed of labor took two parents in Salem, New Hampshire by surprise, leading the father to deliver the baby even before emergency medical technicians could get to the house.

Chris Alexander and his wife Lisana were getting ready to go to the hospital Tuesday after a neighbor cleared their driveway with a snowblower, but when the contractions got closer together, Chris called 911, according to The Union Leader.

But the baby came out faster than EMTs could get there, so Chris delivered the baby boy himself.

Chris is a phlebotomist, so he’s used to blood — but not used to delivering babies.

Mother and child (named Logan John) are doing well, Chris told The Union Leader.
