Donate For Someone Else’s Abortion — It’s For Charity

During the past 12 years the Abortion Rights Fund of Western Massachusetts has “pledged nearly $640,000” to “over 2,500 people” for abortions, according to a Smith College professor.
Carrie N. Baker, co-president of the organization, wrote a column about it for the Hampshire Daily Gazette. She is a professor and director of the Program for the Study of Women and Gender at Smith College.
She doesn’t explain in the column what the word “pledged” refers to — whether the money was actually paid out or just promised if needed.
