Ed Markey Pushes For Massachusetts To Pass Abortion-Expansion ROE Act Bill

September 23, 2020

Massachusetts Democratic Senator Ed Markey works in Washington D.C., but he recently made his feelings clear on what he wants to see done at the Massachusetts State House.

Markey tweeted in support of the proposed ROE Act. Among other things, the bill would eliminate most restrictions on third-trimester abortions, get rid of parental consent for minors seeking abortions, and remove language from existing law that requires doctors to provide life-saving care to babies who are born alive after an attempted abortion.

“Republicans have been working for decades to undermine and strip away reproductive freedoms,” Markey wrote. “It’s time to codify Roe v. Wade in Massachusetts and protect and expand reproductive rights. Stand with @ProChoiceMass and demand your legislator pass the Roe Act.”
