Ed Markey Still Supports Expanding U.S. Supreme Court

April 13, 2022

U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-Malden) still wants to expand the U.S. Supreme Court.

Markey thinks there should be 13 people on the court — four more than there are now.

“The U.S. Supreme Court will soon decide bedrock abortion and climate change cases that will impact the health and safety of millions of Americans,” Markey said in statement to Politico. “It is critical we begin to repair the damage done to our judiciary by the Republican theft of two court seats.”

Markey is asking his supporters to sign a petition calling to expand the Supreme Court.

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren also supports expanding the court to 13 people.
