Former Boston Police Commissioner To Help Mike Bloomberg

February 14, 2020

Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s 2020 presidential campaign will receive help from former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis.

As MassLive reports, Davis will serve as Bloomberg’s Massachusetts state campaign chairman, according to MassLive.com.

“I had the pleasure of getting to know Mike Bloomberg when he was Mayor of New York City and he joined with Mayor Menino to create Mayors Against Illegal Guns,” Davis said in a statement, referring to the late longtime mayor of Boston, Tom Menino, according to MassLive.com. “Mike is a person that takes a data-focused approach to problem solving, and has a proven record of bringing people together to get things done. He is exactly the leader we need in the White House, and he represents our best shot at beating Donald Trump in November.”

A late entry to the 2020 presidential race, Bloomberg was not on the ballot in the New Hampshire primary.

Instead, Bloomberg, who joined the race in November, is focusing on Super Tuesday states, including Massachusetts and Maine, among others.

Super Tuesday is March 3.
