Four Dozen Sea Turtles Beach, Freeze To Death on Cape

About 50 sea turtles froze to death on beaches on the Outer Cape because of the unseasonably cold weather, researchers said.

The turtles washed up Thursday in the Cape Cod towns of Brewster, Orleans, and Eastham.

About 350 sea turtles have washed up since October 22, according to the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in Wellfleet, of the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
