Joe Biden ‘Seems To Be Doing An Incredible Job,’ New Massachusetts Dem Chairman Says

May 4, 2023

Ageism explains attacks on President Joe Biden’s mental competence, the new chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party said.

Steve Kerrigan, who was elected party chairman April 24, praised Biden’s performance in office during an appearance on Boston Public Radio on WGBH FM 89.7 on Monday, May 1. He was responding to criticism of Biden by Amy Carnevale, the chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party, who said America “can do better – much better.”

Kerrigan noted that Carnevale did not refer to Biden’s age in her comment, but went on to address age.

“What I would love people to talk about is ageism seems still the most acceptable form of discrimination when it comes to talking about things like –,” Kerrigan said, stopping mid-sentence. “Watch the work that he’s doing and tell me whether or not he should be president of the United States. He seems to be doing an incredible job.”

A skeptical-sounding Jim Braude, co-host of the show, pointed out the life expectancy of an 80-year-old man is 87, and that Biden would be 86 at the end of his second term if he were re-elected and stays as president until the end of it.

“He’s not asking for extra time. He just wants to serve,” Kerrigan said.
