Katherine Clark Says People Should Expect Washington Gridlock

March 24, 2023

Will Congress get much done over the next two years?

U.S. Representative Katherine Clark (D-Revere) doubts it.

Clark was recently asked if the American people should prepare for two years of gridlock. She said yes.

“That seems to be what we’ve seen from them so far,” Clark told CBS’s Jon Keller.

Additionally, Clark said the Republican-controlled House of Representatives has an extreme agenda.

“The extremists are running it,” she said of the House GOP majority. “People are in a race to take the most extreme position that they can. It’s a race to the bottom in which the American people and their needs and their voices are being kept out.”

Clark got a 100 rating from Americans for Democratic Action, a left-of-center group that tracks members of Congress in 2021, meaning she voted the way the group endorsed 100 percent of the time that year.
