Kim Janey Endorses Michelle Wu

September 27, 2021

The acting mayor of Boston recently announced who she would like to see become the next actual mayor of Boston.

Kim Janey, who failed to finish in the top two in Boston’s preliminary election earlier this month, endorsed city councilor Michelle Wu in the race for mayor over the weekend. Wu is running against fellow city councilor Annissa Essaibi George and is widely considered the more left-wing candidate of the two Democrats.

“The challenges facing Boston today demand strong leadership,” Janey said, according to CBS Boston. “Over the last six months, I’ve worked with residents across our city to address the Covid-19 pandemic, keep people in their homes, get our children back to school and make our neighborhoods safer. We can’t let that work go in vain, which is why I am endorsing Michelle Wu for Mayor.”

The general election for mayor is set for Tuesday, November 2.
