Man Files 603 Open Meeting Law Complaints Against School Committee

December 7, 2018

A Wellesley resident has filed 603 Open Meeting Law complaints against the Natick School Committee since February, according to the MetroWest Daily News.

Ron Alexander says he filed so many complaints because the School Committee keeps breaking the law and keeps not responding to his requests for information appropriately.

But state Representative David Linsky (D-Natick) says he plans to file a bill in the state Legislature that would give the state Attorney General the ability to tell government officials they don’t have to respond to such requests if the Attorney General’s office determines they are intended to harass.

The American Civil Liberties Union says it will pay close attention to any attempt to limit public access to public information.
