Man Sets Car on Fire After Girlfriend Kicks Him Out

A 32-year-old man who lives in Ansonia, Connecticut set his car on fire after his girlfriend asked him to leave the house, police said.

The man used the clothes his girlfriend packed for him to set his 1999 Honda Accord on fire shortly after midnight, according to The Connecticut Post of Bridgeport.

The car was parked only about 10 feet from the house, but firefighters were able to put out the fire before it spread.

Police found the man hiding in a nearby back yard. He told police that she set the fire after getting into an argument with his girlfriend, police told The Connecticut Post.

The man was charged with second degree arson and first degree reckless endangerment.
