Massachusetts Coronavirus Deaths Rare For Most Age Brackets

April 29, 2020

When it comes to coronavirus, deaths for people in the 0-19 age range in Massachusetts are non-existent.

Citing data from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Townhall reported that the average age of death for coronavirus patients in the Bay State is 82.

There have been zero coronavirus deaths for people in the 0 to 19. In the 20 to 29 age range, that number increased to one. In total, the virus has killed 31 people in Massachusetts under the age of 50.

The largest number of deaths came from those over the age of 80 (1,842).

Although there have been no coronavirus deaths in school-age children, Massachusetts is keeping all school buildings closed for the rest of the academic year. The expectation is that they may open schools back up for the 2020-2021 school year.
