Massachusetts Gaming Commission Won’t Let You Bet On Professional Slap Fighting

No, you cannot bet on slap fighting in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission rejected a request to add professional slap fighting to its list of sports that is legal to gamble on in the commonwealth earlier this week. Power Slap, a league of professional slap fighting, will not be added to the state’s legal sports betting catalog. The commission voted down the proposal 5-0 on Monday, May 8.

“With all the concerns over head injuries, I am not comfortable with [this sport] being added in the Commonwealth,” Eileen O’Brien, who is on the commission, told PlayMA.com.

O’Brien’s opinion reflected those of the other commissioners as well, according to the report.
