Newton Public Library To Host ‘LGBTQ Terminology 101’ For Adults

June 1, 2023

Newton’s public library is hosting a mental health counselor to run a virtual “LGBTQ Terminology 101” class for adults next month.

“Do you feel confused or overwhelmed by LGBTQIA+ terminology?” the advertisement for the event asks. “Do you ever get worried you’ll say the wrong word or pronoun?”

For people who answer “yes,” Emily Lunardi, a “Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Drama Therapist specializing in LGBTQIA+ mental health,” plans to present “clear explanations of LGBTQIA+ lingo,” on Monday, June 12.

Ashland Public Library, Tewksbury Public Library, and Cary Library in Lexington are also hosting the event.

NewBostonPost reached out to spokesmen for the libraries on Tuesday, May 30. None responded by deadline.
