Out-of-State College Students Ineligible For COVID-19 Vaccine In New Hampshire

March 30, 2021

Are you an out-of-state college student in the state of New Hampshire?

Then you are not eligible to receive the vaccine in the state, as WMUR reports.

It’s a decision made by the state’s Republican governor, Chris Sununu, due to a limited amount of resources.

However, Durham town manager Todd Selig disagrees with the governor. Durham is the town where the University of New Hampshire is. More than half the students come from out-of-state, including many from from Massachusetts.

“It’s important to get vaccinations to them as soon as possible,” Selig told WMUR. “Their lack of vaccination creates a clear and present risk for the rest of the population.”

A Saint Anselm spokesman, Paul Pronovost, said the school doesn’t object to the governor’s decision.

He said:  “We’re not ever going to put ourselves in a position of second-guessing the governor prioritizing New Hampshire residents.”
