Pam Smart Denied Parole

A 51-year-old woman who manipulated a teenage lover to kill her husband in 1990 was denied a parole hearing Wednesday.

The New Hampshire Executive Council voted 4-0 with one abstention to deny the hearing for Pamela Smart, according to the Eagle-Tribune of Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Smart was 22 when her husband Gregg Smart was murdered in their home in Derry, New Hampshire by a 15-year-old boy whom Pamela Smart seduced and then influenced to kill her husband.

She was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

During her first several years in prison she joined the National Organization for Women, according to the New York Times.
