Peter Lucas: Weight-Throwing Marty Walsh Is the ‘Mayor of Massachusetts’

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh campaigned in Hudson for his former chief of staff Don Koh, who is running for the open Merrimack Valley congressional seat.

As Lowell Sun columnist Peter Lucas points out, that’s the sort of thing that Walsh’s predecessors never did and never would have done. Hudson is 41 miles from Boston, and the Third Congressional District is entirely outside of Boston (and not that close to it — Concord is the nearest point).

Lucas calls Walsh the “most important and powerful Democrat Party leader in the state,” and predicts Walsh will run for governor of Massachusetts in 2022 or U.S. Senate if an opening occurs.
