Phase Three of Re-Opening No Earlier Than Monday, July 6, Massachusetts Governor Says

June 19, 2020

Gyms, fitness centers, indoor swimming pools, museums, theaters, concert halls, sightseeing tours, whale watches, batting cages, and wedding parties won’t be authorized to take place in Massachusetts until Monday, July 6 at the earliest, Governor Charlie Baker said.

Those activities, which are in s0-called Phase Three of the state’s re-opening, had been pegged to begin Monday, June 29.

Baker said during his coronavirus press conference on Friday, June 19 that he wants to see at least two weeks of data after the re-opening of indoor dining at restaurants — which is set for Monday, June 22 — before going ahead with Phase Three. That pushes back Phase Three at least a week.
