Researchers Using Grant To Study How To Make Self-Driving Cars Talk To Each Other

The two professors at Worcester Polytechnic University are using a $425,000 grant from the National Science Foundation, a federal agency, to try to figure out how to allow a self-driving car’s sensors use information from other self-driving cars in the area to gather information about traffic and speed, among other things.

One of the researchers “compared this to being in a loud party environment and turning your ear to the one specific person with whom you want to converse,” according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
