Retiring Bernie Aide Once Got A Radiation Degree Just So He Could Infiltrate Hospitals and Unionize Them

Phil Fiermonte, 62, state director for Vermont U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, during the 1980s got a degree as a radiation technician so that he could get a job at various hospitals and unionize the staff there. Fiermonte is retiring after 20 years of working for Sanders, including a stint on Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign.
