Rhode Island Governor: Parents Should Sue Warwick Public Schools for Not Re-Opening, and We’ll Help
September 1, 2020
The governor of Rhode Island says her office will help parents in the city of Warwick sue the city’s public schools for not reopening in September.
“Call us. We’ll help you figure out your legal options. We will help you think through it. Because it’s not right,” Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo said Tuesday, September 1, according to The Providence Journal.
She also suggested that the city of Warwick might lose federal funding over the decision to not offer in-person instruction because of the coronavirus emergency.
The governor has given Warwick and other communities in the state to re-open public schools that closed in March.
