Ron Beaty Wants Trump’s Endorsement In Lieutenant Governor Campaign

March 28, 2021

Would former President Donald Trump endorse a lieutenant governor candidate in Massachusetts?

Former Barnstable county commissioner Ron Beaty told NewBostonPost in an email message that he wants to try to make it happen.

“I will be seeking the the formal endorsement of PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP for my Republican candidacy for LT. GOVERNOR OF MASSACHUSETTS!” Beaty wrote.

Beaty got elected as a Barnstable county commissioner in 2016 and served in the position for one term.

He is one of two Republicans who has announced they are running for lieutenant governor. The other Rayla Campbell of Randolph, who ran for in the state’s Seventh Congressional District as a write-in against U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley (D-Dorchester) last year.
