Saint Anselm College Defends Upcoming Trump Town Hall

Not everyone is a fan of former President Donald Trump.

Yet Saint Anselm College is defending its decision to host a CNN Town Hall with the former president moderated by CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins at 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 10.

“Of course, politics, and politicians, can be divisive, so why would we offer a forum for such activity?” Saint Anselm College president Joseph Favazza told New Hampshire Public Radio. “It is simple:  We believe that honest and informed interchange of ideas and perspectives is the bedrock of an informed electorate, which is why we have enthusiastically and impartially hosted political events since the 1950s.”

Saint Anselm College is a private Benedictine college in Goffstown, New Hampshire. About 2,000 students attend the school.
