Salem Hospital Sued On Claim It Exposed Patients To HIV Or Hepatitis

A lawsuit filed on behalf of patients claims that Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital exposed hundreds of patients to HIV or hepatitis, according to ABC Boston.

The plaintiffs are arguing that 10 hospital employees improperly administered intravenous medications during endoscopy procedures between June 2021 and April 2023. 

The hospital isn’t disputing the facts, but is arguing that the practice was corrected as soon as it was discovered and that the risk of infection is negligible. The exposed patients are being tested. There is no evidence of infection as of yet.
