School Officials Using Test Strips To Test for Odorless Marijuana Products

June 21, 2019

School officials who can no longer rely on the pungent smell of marijuana to alert them to drug use in schools are now using test strips to determine if cookies, candy, and vaping devices are laced with it.

The test strips turn red if they detect the presence of tetrahydrocannabinol, the active ingredient in marijuana widely known as THC.

Administrators at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich are using the test strips, according to The Cape Cod Times.

Students found with marijuana in schools encounter disciplinary action and a $100 fine, according to The Cape Cod Times.
